Changing WPCONTENTDIR and WPCONT

Changing WP_CONTENT_DIR and WP_CONTENT_URL in wp-config.php does not register?
I tried to add this to the end of my wp-config.phpdefine('WP_CONTENT_DIR', $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']
