You can do that with setTimeout like:

setTimeout(function() {
        // Do something after 2 seconds
        $('.alert').show();
    }, 2000);

The .alert should be display:none; by default.

use a setTimeout :

setTimeout(function() {
    $('.alert-info').hide();
}, 2000);
