My question relates to the Power BI “Model View”. I want to add a table to it and, I expect, add its relationships to other tables. How do I go about this please? I understand it’s possible to achieve using PBI Desktop but I am concerned that I may not have the appropriate permissions to upload this to the server when I’m happy with it. So is it possible to achieve it via Azure Data Factory for which I do have full permissions? I am aware that it is not possible via PBI Service.
Background:
I am something of a novice when it comes down to Power BI but have been working with a SQL database that feeds a PBI pipeline whose steps and tables I am growing familiar with to the point that I can alter steps and add new ones. I have experience dealing with Azure Data Factory Azure BLOB storage
When I work with Power BI itself to manipulate the data generated by the pipeline, I have been using Power BI desktop, interacting only with a downloaded pbix file provided by my customer. I also now have access to the Power BI Service but it’s currently a virtually complete unknown to me.
I have full access to the live database so creating the table alongside the existing ones is not a problem but making it visible within ‘Model View’ is my problem (and making it visible/available to PBI users via the Power BI “Data” tab).
Many thanks
