looker - Adding View Labels to Visualization Table and Drill-In Data - Stack Overflow

programmeradmin0浏览0评论

I am working with a report in Looker and noticed a discrepancy between the data table and the visualization table in my exploration. The data table displays the view labels (e.g., "Time Card Employee" and "Time Card Owner") as part of the column names. However, these view labels are absent in the visualization table, as shown in the attached screenshot.

Additionally, when drilling into data, the view labels are also missing from the drill-in table, which can make it harder to understand the context of the fields.

I would like to understand how to configure Looker to include these view labels both in the visualization table and when drilling into data to maintain clarity and consistency.*Side question, is it possible to add view labels to just the drill in visualizations?

Steps to reproduce:

  • Open the exploration interface.
  • Add fields from multiple views (e.g., "Time Card Employee" and "Time Card Owner").
  • Observe the data table, which displays the full column name including the view label.
  • Observe the visualization table, where the view labels are missing.
  • Drill into a specific data point and observe that the view labels are not included in the drill-in table either.

Expected behavior:

The visualization table should include the same view labels displayed in the data table (e.g., "Time Card Employee Full Name" instead of just "Full Name"). When drilling into data, the drill-in table should also display the full column name with view labels for better context. Attachments:

How to achieve this? or is it a limitation of Looker’s visualization and drill-in configurations?

It turns out I don't have the ability to post an image yet. I hope you can understand what I am getting at here.

I've tried searching for a global feature toggle to turn this on for visualization and I was not able to find one. I know I can adjust it manually on each report but I'm hoping for a way to do this globally.
