javascript - Datatables export buttons not showing, - Stack Overflow

programmeradmin2浏览0评论

I want to export the Data from data table, I've tried everything I could, I've read All the questions and answers of stackoverflow and the documentation about those buttons issues till the google's second page,

I'm sure I've referenced all The required javascript's cdn and CSS as required, No error in console, But still The export buttons are not showing, Here is how I initialized DataTable,

table.DataTable({
    dom: 'Bfrtip',
    buttons: [
        'copy', 'csv', 'excel', 'pdf', 'print'
    ],
    "columnDefs": [{
        "defaultContent": "-",
        "targets": "_all"
    }],
    bFilter: false, bInfo: false,

    "bDestroy": true
});

All the functions of Datatable that were required are working fine except the export buttons not showing up, My last hope is left on this question, Please help me.

  • Please check if you have you included the datatable buttons CSS and JS or not. – Prakash Thete Commented Jun 29, 2016 at 9:16

For everyone that searching for a solution to show buttons to export to Excel spreadsheet or PDF or even a Print View button when installing dataTables through bower.

You must install jszip, pdfmake, datatables, datatables-buttons, datatables-responsive

bower install Stuk/jszip pdfmake datatables datatables-buttons datatables-responsive

or update your bower.json to

"dependencies": {
    "jszip": "~2.5.0",
    "pdfmake": "0.1.18",
    "datatables": "~1.1.10",
    "datatables-buttons": "~1.2.4",
    "datatables-responsive": "~2.1.1"
}

and run bower update

In you HTML file put theses lines (change the path for your project)

<!-- DataTables-CSS -->
<link href="bower_ponents/datatables/media/css/dataTables.bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet">

<!-- DataTables JS -->
<script src="bower_ponents/jszip/dist/jszip.min.js"></script>
<script src="bower_ponents/pdfmake/build/pdfmake.min.js"></script>
<script src="bower_ponents/datatables/media/js/jquery.dataTables.min.js"></script>
<script src="bower_ponents/datatables/media/js/dataTables.bootstrap.min.js"></script>
<script src="bower_ponents/datatables-buttons/js/dataTables.buttons.js"></script>
<script src="bower_ponents/datatables-buttons/js/buttons.bootstrap.js"></script>
<script src="bower_ponents/datatables-buttons/js/buttons.html5.js"></script>
<script src="bower_ponents/datatables-buttons/js/buttons.print.js"></script>

Call the DataTables with

$(document).ready(function() {
    $('#my-table').DataTable({
        dom: "Bfrtip",
        buttons: ["excel","pdf","print","excelHtml5","pdfHtml5"]
    });
} );

Here's the fiddle to watch working or try the Code Snippet above

$(document).ready(function() {
    $('#example').DataTable({
        dom: "Bfrtip",
        buttons: [
          "excel",
          "pdf",
          {extent: "print", text: "<span class='glyphicon glyphicon-print'></span> Print"},
          {extent: "excelHtml5", text: "<span class='glyphicon glyphicon-th-list'></span> Excel HTML5 Export"},
          {extent: "pdfHtml5", text: "<span class='glyphicon glyphicon-save'></span> PDF HTML5 Export", title: "Filename"}
          ]
    });
} );

    </table>

I've hardly managed to find out the real issue, That each of the <th> element of <thead> inside <table> was not necessarily shown. Some of them were hidden with .hide() function of jquery.

I've exported the data as it is, But every hidden <th> were exported, So I guessed the <tr> of <tbody> should match the <th> of <thead>.

How did I fix this ?

We should be always aware of matching <th> and <tr> with the same properties and attributes, Like if <th> is hidden then relevant <tr> tag also should have the proper style="display:none" attribute. Avoid mismatching the header and data.
