while trying to use dotnet core i always get this error Failed to load the dll from [C:\Program Files

(x86)\dotnet\shared\Microsoft.NETCore.App\8.0.12\hostpolicy.dll], HRESULT: 0x800700C1
An error occurred while loading required library hostpolicy.dll from [C:\Program Files (x86)\dotnet\shared\Microsoft.NETCore.App\8.0.12]

I tried reinstalling and all other fixes suggested online but could not resolve the issue

tried reinstallation from scratch tried to change env variables tried to use different versions of netapp
